Trying To Shampooing Carpet But Don’t Know How ?
Shampooing Carpet Can Be Done in a Few Easy Steps
Carpets need to be refreshed once in a long while. The length of the interval between sessions is determined by the amount and frequency of traffic that travels over it. The best way to determine whether shampooing carpet needs to be done is by observing the appearance of your carpet. If the bright colors of the carpet no longer look like they did originally, you should probably be renting a carpet shampooing machine.
Shampooing carpets are easier done that talked about. The basic steps all boil down to applying shampoo to the carpet and running over the wet area with the shampooing device. However, some initial preparations need to be done to make your task easy. When you purchase the carpet shampoo, be sure that it works best with the shampooer you are using. So tell the vendor the brand name of the device before selecting the shampoo.
- About thirty minutes before you start the procedure, look for stains on the carpet and spray them with the carpet cleaner to give time for the cleaner to work before you shampoo.
- Before shampooing carpet, vacuum out the loose particles of dirt in the carpet. These have to be removed to prevent them from dissolving in the shampoo and messing up your work
- Remove all furniture and floor décor from that area of the rug. If it is not possible to remove some pieces of furniture because of their weight, you will just have to work under them.
- Work in square sections that are convenient for the length of your arms. Proceed working the section in straight lines.
- Apply carpet shampoo on a portion of the spot and run the shampooer over the area repeatedly until it looks clean. You may need to make several passes over exceptionally filthy areas of the rug.
- When done with one section proceed to the adjacent spot and repeat until you have covered the whole square area
- When the whole square is done, make a few passes over it with the shampooer to remove moisture.
- Repeat the above steps for the succeeding squares.
Once shampooing carpet is finished, the last sections shampooed will still be damp. Open windows to allow air in for drying up the carpet. You may also use an electric fan for this purpose. Bringing down the temperature of the air-conditioner should also hasten the drying process.
Most people prefer to rent a shampooer instead of buying one. That is because shampooing rugs is done once or twice – perhaps even three times in a year. Many rent their shampooers. If you purchase an H2O mop you can have a steam-powered mop and carpet cleaning machine at the same time. With H2O mop you can freshen your carpets as often as you like because the device uses steam to clean your carpets. There is no danger of ruining the fibers by frequent exposure to corrosive ingredients.
